The Midwest Renewable Energy Association (MREA) hosts a three day energy fair every June in rural Custer, Wisconsin. The fair draws thousands of people from all over the world who come to learn about everything from solar power to organic farming. For homeowners there are beginners' workshops on how to choose installers, and advanced workshops on alternative construction and energy conservation. Energy industry professionals take part in professional development workshops that offer networking and training opportunities.

21 Years of Learning about Clean Energy

The Energy Fair began in 1990, the 20th anniversary of Earth Day. It is always held the weekend of the summer solstice, the day of the year with the longest exposure to sunlight. In 1990, the first Energy Fair had three thousand attendees. Now, in its 21st year, the world's largest energy fair, hosts over 20 thousand people who come from all over the world.
