Ghost Recon2 Pc
As a PC user, you may come across situations when your monitor fails to give any display when you power it up. Under these circumstances, there are a few factors you should consider. Relax; your monitor may not have given up the ghost yet.
There are quite a few, less drastic factors that may be responsible for this situation. Try the following steps before you start frantically searching for the warranty card of your monitor.
- Check power supply: Switch on the PC and see if it is powering up properly. If it is not powering up, then check cables and power supply for the PC. Next, turn on the power supply for the monitor and see if it is powering up properly. If not, then check carefully the power cables and power supply. If this step solves the problem, then the actual problem may have been with the power supply or cables of your PC or monitor. Get the power cables replaced if you think those might have been the reason for the problem.
- Check if monitor is defective or VGA Cable is loose: Do you have another monitor in the house? Try connecting it with the PC and see if there is any display. If the display works properly in this case, then the problem may indeed be with your monitor. You should also try to re-insert the VGA cable in the VGA slot of your graphics card and see if the display works. A loose VGA cable can often cause display problems.
- Check if your video card is working: If you are certain that your monitor is working fine then check your video card. To do so, turn off your PC and unplug all power cables. Open the cabinet and take out the video card. Then, re-insert the video card in the slot. After that, power up your PC and see if the display comes back. If the problem persists, try replacing the video card. If the problem is there even after that, then either your motherboard or PCI-E/AGP connector might be the root of the problem. You may have to replace your motherboard.
- Check if your System RAM is OK: If your RAM is defective, then that may also cause the problem. Turn off your PC and unplug all cables. Then, take out the RAM from the slot and re-insert it. If the problem persists, try replacing your RAM.
Note that all these steps require a good amount of technical knowledge. If you are not confident about your knowledge level, then you should leave it to a capable systems administrator.
