Although it sounds simple, use what you have when it comes to decorating and serving. Use holiday and party decorations that you already have. Try grouping items in themes for a cohesive look. Instead of scattering snowmen or penguins throughout your home, group them on a tabletop on mantelpiece. Remember to turn on some background music.
Use dimmer switches, strings of holiday lights, and battery-operated candles throughout the house for a festive glow that also helps hide that you didn’t have time to clean as well as you wanted. Look through your wallet, desk, and wherever else you may have restaurant gift cards stashed.
